Re: How to restrict domain/websites using family and safty in windows 8?

This is very much similar to windows 7 parental control, But family and safety features are inbuilt to windows 8. Just go to control panel and click on user account and family safety.

Select family safety for another user option. (To setup family and safety features you must have an account with standard user privileges other than your current logged in account with admin privileges )

Select the user you want to put restrictions..

    Click on web filtering..

and enable select "Test can only use the website I allow"... Here test is my user that i am going to out restriction .. yours will be different......

Just type and add the websites you want to restrict .. Here add and block both options are available.. just select block since we are going to block the domain.

Then if a standard user tries to access a restricted domain he will be blocked and will be displayed a notification stating that it is blocked and if you want to unblock contact your parents (remember this is a parental control)...(Ask for permission) ..This is simple yet useful parental control for parents ...

How to unblock parental control even being in the child's/standard users account?

If you click on "Ask for permission" you will be prompted to provide parental credential to unblock this site.. Then click on my parent is here option and get the parents approval and unblock it..

This is where you need to enter parents password..

    finally it will be allowed...
